MASTERS SQUAD

Coaches: Keith Hall, Zoe Cowan

Swimming at RDASC isn’t limited to the junior age groups. If you are 18 or over and are interested in joining us, consider becoming part of our Masters Squad. Whether you want to train and compete competitively or would just relish the opportunity to get back into the pool as part of a club environment, our Masters might be what you’re looking for. To join us you should:

  • Be able to train effectively over at least 2 strokes, using varying modes and intensities
  • Be willing to learn
  • Enjoy club swimming
  • Be 8yrs+ (on the day of joining)

Our goal within the Masters Squad is to:

  • Develop fitness and speed in a challenging and progressive training environment
  • Encourage those that wish to compete to do so
  • Retain members in Club Swimming at RDASC

As a member of our Masters Squad you will enjoy a varied training programme that will include:

  • Medley based training
  • Supplementary training on kick, pull, dolphin kick, maximal speed and stroke skills.

You will also benefit from a rigorous and disciplined training environment. We ask that swimmers:

  • Train at the prescribed density and intensity for the group
  • Have a willingness to learn and improve
  • Be a great team member

The number of sessions attended per week is optional, although ‘competitive’ members are expected to make more of a commitment. ‘Competitive’ members will have access to 3 sessions per week (4 hours). ‘Non-competitive’ members will have access to 2 sessions per week (2 hours).
